A word for you!
In a time of uncertainty and economic confusion, there are many who feel worried and desperate; afraid of what the future holds for them. Facing impossible situations leaves them crying at night and they see no way out. For many it’s like a wall in front of them that they can’t see around. The feeling of finding no way out produces hopelessness and doubt. Meeting these people at the altar and taking part of their pain when praying for them, makes you feel so small, but at the same time I remember Jesus’ Words, “All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore…” He reminds us of His Gospel, which is a saving power for whoever believes. We have access to this power if we believe in Him. It is His message and we are simply messengers on a journey taking His Word to the world.
Yes, we are truly on a journey, and no matter how much we might want to, we can’t stop time. We have no choice but to move forward. We can never go back. The past is in the past. Some of us have bad memories, some good, and most of us have both. The most important thing is how we deal with our different circumstances. We have a choice to either grow in experience and wisdom, or let bitterness and anger take root, leaving us more stuck in our circumstances than before.
Dear readers, there are a couple of words I often think about, “In the Master’s hands.” These words have encouraged me lately, because they are no longer just words, but a reality in my life. There is incredible security in knowing that we can rest in our Master Jesus Christ’s nail-pierced hands. He is our Rock; steadfast and immovable. We stumble and fall sometimes, but He, the saving Christ, reaches out His hands and lifts us up over and over again. This is a hope and security we as humans need.
How then is it possible to get so close to our Savior that, as a child, we can experience this security and learn to rest in His arms? The Lord says in His Word that, “Heaven and earth will pass away, but My Words will never pass away.” The Bible also says in Matthew 7:7, “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” In this verse we find the answer! I always try to follow the example of Godly men and women who throughout time have proclaimed this truth, that no work can be done in the kingdom of God without prayer. It is a simple truth, but incredibly hard to submit to. When prayer meetings are advertised, we quickly find an excuse not to go. The Lord also challenges us to knock on the door. That door will be opened by Jesus Christ when we pray with intensity and endurance. To me all this means is that He is inviting us into His presence. He promised that when we seek, we will find!
My friend, even if you feel like your questions haven’t been answered yet, I challenge you to once again try this old, proven way. “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.”
Please pray for us as we continue in full-time ministry serving our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
God bless!
